Peonies can be purchased from many
sources. Experience has shown that the best results are obtained
by buying from a grower or peony specialist. The roots you get from
these people are generally larger, fresher, and true to name, though
mistakes do happen. A reputable source will not hesitate to correct
any inadvertent errors they may have made.
The list below is made up of Canadian growers and vendors from across the country.
Some are strictly local nurseries and do not ship plants. Others ship, not only within Canada but also abroad.
Some will provide potted plants while others ship only bare root
divisions in the fall. Order at least a half dozen catalogues, or
better yet visit the Internet sites. You will be surprised at the
number of varieties that are available in Canada. Do not hesitate
to order by mail.
Some vendors on the list are commercial members
of the Canadian Peony Society and are so indicated, but the CPS
does not endorse or imply an endorsement of ANY vendor. The list
is provided solely as a reference for use in your search for that
special peony. Enjoy.
