The 13th Annual CPS Show & AGM will be held in conjunction with the 6th Annual Peony Festival at the Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens, 155 Arena Street, Oshawa, Ontario on June 12th and 13th.

There will be speakers and demonstrations throughout the two days along with our wonderful Peony Show with hundreds of blooms on the exhibit tables. There will also be several roots available during our live auctions (after each speaker and at our member’s dinner on Saturday night).If you can donate a root or two for fall delivery or have a potted Peony for the auctions please let me know:  mjdenny@sympatico.ca or 905-263-4765. If you are interested in showing your blooms the show schedule will be on this site by May.

There will be garden tours of Parkwood National Historic Site (within walking distance) – see their website for other activities during the week-end at: www.parkwoodestate.com. There will be an Ikebana Display using Peonies at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery – a quick walk from the Gardens. We are putting together a list of interesting gardens you may wish to visit during your stay – check the website in May. Lunch or tea will be available at the Peony Café in the OVBG site or the Parkwood Gardens Restaurant or the Art Gallery Restaurant.

The AGM and dinner will be held at the Best Western Durham Hotel and Conference Centre, 559 Bloor Street West, Oshawa, ON  L1J 5Y6 – a short distance away from the Gardens. We have a block of rooms set aside here for anyone coming from out-of-town. $99.00 for standard room (double queen) or $109 for a large king room. (Box lunches are available for $10).

DINNER for members on Saturday night will be held following the AGM (which will be held at the same location) at Octavien’s, located at the BEST WESTERN. The dinner will cost $35.00 (cash bar). You MUST reserve your dinner by Friday the 4^th of June. Please notify Judi Denny (mjdenny@sympatico.ca) or 905-263-4765 that you will be attending, and send a cheque prior to that date to our treasurer Marvin Belfour at 427 Preswick Ct., Oshawa, ON  L1J 7R6 (cheque payable to the Canadian Peony Society) PLEASE DO THIS SOON!

The Children's Arena (adjacent to the Peony Garden) will be open from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday June 11th for placement of blooms. See Schedule of events below.
